Ergonomic Workplace Assessments
Our expertise covers ergonomic analysis, both at the individual (workstation) and organizational (unit) level. Through one-on-one interviews conducted by our ergotherapists or physiotherapists, or via 3D mapping, we help you understand and quantify your current situation. Our 3D software lets you visualize and measure the effectiveness of ergonomic improvements.

Workstation Analysis Using RULA Assessment Criteria
The RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) method is valuable for its comprehensive approach. The scoring is weighted by the muscular efforts exerted and the static or repetitive nature of movements. It considers all joints, including the back and lower limbs. This scientifically and internationally recognized method was developed and initially used by McAtamney and Corlett in 1993, and is now widely adopted by many ergonomists, including SUVA.Â

The RULA score represents the postural level of the evaluated professional task. The minimum score is 1 and the maximum score is 7.
STOP Principle
To effectively manage safety and health protection, it’s crucial to clearly define the key areas for analysis from the start. In other words, this means structuring your analysis to cover the most relevant aspects. Suva recommends the STOP analysis principle, which we, in turn, offer to our clients.

Substituting an activity is not always straightforward, but honestly considering the question only requires time. Some tasks can sometimes be outsourced to allow you to focus on your core business.
Regarding Technical measures, Novafree has several years of experience in industrial robotics and workplace adaptation through process automation and/or the creation of employee assistance tools, for example.
Organisational measures can also be implemented. Our team is happy to assist you in verifying your compliance with standards defined by SECO or SUVA, or to provide a unique and tailored solution to make your employees’ daily lives easier.
In cases where no substitution, organizational, or technical measures could be identified, we must then consider measures involving your personnel. It is at this point that we can think about integrating exoskeletons.
Integration of Exoskeletons
Novafree has several years of experience and a network of over a thousand testers in Switzerland. As part of its strategy, Novafree aims to establish its pioneering position in Switzerland by offering tests of different exoskeleton, from various suppliers. This allows us to tailor a solution that perfectly aligns with your industry and the specific needs of your employees.
Beyond exoskeleton acquisition, we offer a holistic approach to well-being. Our support program includes training, warm-up routines, and consultations, cultivating a culture of health. By implementing these initiatives, you can expect increased employee attendance and a more engaged workforce.
As of spring 2024, thanks to our partnership with the Rachis Clinic, the AI/IV(Invalidity Insurance) now considers, subject to certain condition, exoskeletons as assistive devices for workplace adaptations. We see this as a significant step forward in supporting individuals suffering from back pain or seeking to prevent it.
